Austin, Texas — One man has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an early morning shooting in East Austin on Thursday.

Police are not sure where the actual shooting took place at this time but can confirm a shooting did occur. It happened somewhere in the Langston Dr., Lynridge Dr., Dubuque Ln. area.

A homeowner in the area said they heard a couple of gunshots and then a man knocked on their door and said he had been shot. He asked them to call 911.

When police arrived on the scene, officers say the victim told them he was shot down the street on Lynridge Drive.

According to Austin police, the victim was shot in the upper back and is currently in surgery at Dell-Seton Medical Center.

No suspect has been taken into custody at this time.
