If you have a scheduled auto transportation service coming up, we guarantee there are some things you can do to make your experience shipping your vehicle quick and easy! While we handle most of the hard work for you, if you follow this simple guide before your auto transportation date, you will have a streamlined shipping experience!
First up, wash your car.
Washing your car may sound a bit silly, but we promise it is helpful. Giving your car a nice wash helps make the following step a much easier task!
Second, inspect your car for damage.
Before you ship your vehicle, you want to thoroughly go over your car to check for any damage, such as scuffs, scrapes, dents, etc. It is important to write all of these down, so you have a log of an accurate depiction of your vehicle prior to shipping. You want to know what it looks like before so you can distinguish if anything new appears after shipping. Washing your car before doing this makes your inspection much easier!
Third, take out loose items.
Removing loose items lowers the risk of internal harm happening to your car. While shipping your vehicle, your car moves around a lot. This means that loose items will move around a lot in your car. This puts your car at risk of internal damage, as the items could possibly bang around aggressively in your vehicle. To avoid this entirely, simply remove any loose items or secure anything you do not want to remove.
Fourth, check the fuel levels in your car.
There is a sweet spot when it comes to the fuel levels in your car. You want to have more than 1/8 full tank but less than 1/4 full tank when shipping it. This lightens your vehicle and also reduces the risk of a leak occurring while shipping your vehicle.
