AUSTIN, Texas — An 18-wheeler spilled 10-15 gallons of diesel in north Austin Friday after it “dinged” its fuel tank, according to the Austin Fire Department.
The driver was backing up into a loading dock at the Lowe’s on 8000 Shoal Creek Boulevard when the tank hit a very low concrete wall around 9:51 a.m.
AFD helped seal the leak and called the Watershed Protection Department to help with cleanup and protect waterways. Some of the fuel went into the nearby drainage, but it’s not known how much. The trucking company confirmed it hired a contractor to professionally clean the area.
